Inspired by Leonora Carrington's work, The Trials of Life illustrates the hardships of maturity and the fear that comes with confronting adulthood. The composition of this piece is divided into thirds, with each section focusing on a different stage of life (childhood, adolescence, and adulthood). Growing up and having to diminish one's dependency on their parents is a difficult yet vital part of any person's life.
